Alexa Internet, Inc. is a California-based company that provides commercial web traffic data and analytics. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com.

Alexa toolbar collects data on browsing behavior and transmits it to the Alexa website, where data is stored and analyzed. This is the basis for the company's web traffic reporting. According to its website, Alexa provides traffic data, global rankings, and other information on 30 million websites. As of 2015, its website has been visited by over 6.5 million people monthly.

Sugestões

You can report web traffic metrics for any domain (not just yours). Make sure you specify domain in widget configuration panel of Alexa dashboard.

Notas

To connect to Alexa:

1. Log in with your AWS Alexa account
2. Open your AWS Management Console
3. Select Security Credentials from the top menu
4. Copy Access Key ID and Secret Access Key

Please note that Alexa reports data from 2 days ago and earlier.

The basis for Alexa Traffic rank is Alexa toolbar. It collects data on browsing behavior and transmits it to the Alexa website, where data is stored and analyzed.

Sugestões

Alexa reports data for sites with at least some traffic. For web sites with ranking below 2.000.000, metrics will not be returned.

2.000.000 is a reasonable threshold in our view. If your widgets show "No data" warning, keep working on your SEO and you should start seeing your metrics soon.

Alexa will return data for the last 4 years only. Queries for older dates will not return any information.
